Over the last two years, GL has experienced a paradigm shift from monitoring and evaluation to Results for Change. We have started to think much more seriously about knowledge, learning and innovation. GL Board and Staff document their learning and help to set the agenda on key gender issues through periodic policy briefs. GL monthly management meetings begin with a learning event. GL’s annual Learning Journey – a collection of staff reflections – has many honest reflections on “learning the hard and learning the fun way”,
During the pressured Sixteen Days of Activism, staff kept and later published personal diaries of their insights; these have been compiled in a compendium that offers rich insight and reflection. GL produced a Ten Year history and DVD. Internal knowledge products include our Policies and Regulations; Results for change manual; Research and Communications Manual and GL Leadership Manual. The South African “I” Stories Experience – Speaking out can set you free explores how the GL “I” stories experience impacted on the women who participated in the project.
