Robinah Valerie Kapawa is currently employed as a Project Administrative and Finance Officer at TRAFFIC International; a joint programme for IUCN and WWF and is responsible for ensuring the consistent and efficient administration of the Wildlife TRAPS initiative, including creating and maintaining appropriate administrative record keeping systems with respect to both financial and project management material. She works closely with the TRAFFIC International finance and administration team and the project administrators at both IUCN and USAID to ensure adherence to financial, project management and reporting requirements.
Robinah possesses over 8 years experience both in the NGO and private sector in Operations, Administration, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Programme or Project Management and Human Resources Management and has experience working in complex environments and settings; and is adept at collaborating with broad networks of stakeholders, coordinating the work of geographically disparate and transcontinental teams to achieve project aims and objectives as well as planning and delivering international events. She has work experience in various humanitarian, community and international development programmes and projects funded by various donors and foundations such as USAID, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Norwegian People’s Aid, DFID PPA, Diakonia, MDG, FES and DANIDA as well as extensive experience providing operational support, project management, financial management and oversight to programmes and community development projects at local, regional and international level.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Management majoring in Human Resources Management acquired at the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe as well as Pitman Qualifications for Financial Accounting Level 4 and Cost and Management Accounting Level 3. She is currently studying towards a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Wits Business School of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
