Botswana: Country Manager

Mrs. Rasesigo joined Gender Links in November 2013 as the Country Program officer and has since risen through the ranks to head the Botswana office as the country manager. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of Botswana. She also holds a Masterâ € ™s Degree in Public Administration majoring in Human Resource Management also from the University of Botswana. Mrs. Rasesigo has over 12 years work experience; she started her work in 2003 as a Social Welfare Officer under the Local Government where she worked for the next six years. Her main responsibility being providing counselling to families going through hardships. She also worked with the magistrate court in handling cases of juvenile delinquents.

She went on to join the Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS) as the Orphan Care Officer in 2009 and trained orphans and their care givers on life skills as well as oversee all Orphan Care project ran by BRCS in various districts. She went on to become a District Programs Officer and managed volunteers and projects at district level. Through her hard work was promoted to Branch Development Coordinator a position that saw her supervise all the BRCS program and field officers. In 2013 she left the organisation and joint the gender movement as the Country Program Officer for Gender Links, her main duty being to facilitate Centres of Excellence (COE) trainings in Botswana Councils. She was later promoted to the Country Manager which meant she now oversees all the GL programs in Botswana including COE work in councils and media houses, she also trains GBV survivors on entrepreneurship skills. She is the liaison officer between GL and Botswana Stakeholders.

Rasesigo is a versatile lady, and currently she is part of the task force which develops standards for Public Administration students and she was also recently appointed by the Minister of Finance to be part of the National Committee on Population and Development. She is also part of the board of Human Trafficking in Botswana. Rasesigo is a well-travelled officer who has had an opportunity to work with people from different cultures.
