
Dr. Matsepo Molise-Ramakoae is a distinguished public servant and philanthropist. Dr. Molise-Ramakoae holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce Management from the National University of Lesotho and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands.
Her notable career includes leadership roles in various government ministries, such as being the first female Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defense and National Security, where she introduced civil-military relations. She also served as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Communication, promoting media freedom, and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Chief of State Protocol. Dr. Molise-Ramakoae’s commitment to public service extended to her political career, where she was elected to the National Assembly and served as Deputy Minister of Finance. Her active advocacy for gender equality began with her work in the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus both nationally and regionally.
In addition to her political and governmental roles, Dr. Molise-Ramakoae is a dedicated philanthropist. Her charitable efforts include the founding of the “Morali oa Mosotho Foundation” in memory of her late daughter. The foundation supports young girls affected by COVID-19. She is also the President of Lesotho Women in Dialogue Lesotho (LEWID), which works on combating gender-based violence and promoting women’s rights in Lesotho. Her lifelong dedication to public service and women’s empowerment has earned her an honorary doctorate from GD Goenka University, India. Dr. Molise-Ramakoae’s exemplary leadership and compassion continue to inspire many.
