Loga Virahsawmy, gender activist, former Director of Gender Links (GL) Mauritius and Francophone Director, sat on the Regional Board of Gender Links for nearly 10 years. She participated and contributed in a variety of research for GL. She conducted workshops on media literacy and leadership skills in Mauritius and the region.
Loga has published five novels, a bibligraphy of her husband. Her series of stories for children are being published. She is a regular writer of personal testimonies and articles on gender.
She was awarded the high distinction of Grand Officer of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GOSK) by the President of the Republic on the advice of the Prime Minister on 23 July 2009.
