Sheistah Bundhoo joined Gender Links in 2014 after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with Specialisation in Gender Studies.

Sheistah has been working on several projects at Gender Links and implements the programme work stakeholders involved in the gender equality cause.  In line with the programme work and various projects, she ensures the monitoring and evaluation of projects coordindated.

Sheistah also handles the routine finance for the local office and writes donor project proposals.

Sheistah was a Local Councilor from 2012 till 2019. Being an activist, Sheistah has shown proof of willingness to bring change in the lives of women and help in their empowerment. She believes in the work and is always willing to help women living in poverty and survivors of violence.

In 2019, Sheistah was part of the Zanele Mbeki Fellowship Programme and was nominated by Gender Links. Sheistah is currently completing a Master’s Degree in International Business from Curtin University.
