The Alliance delegation launched the 2010 Barometer at a parallel event during CSW. The event was attended by over twenty guests, from across the globe. The Barometer is the first of its kind, measuring progress made by SADC Member States, year by year, on implementing the provisions of the Gender and Development Protocol. The Baseline Study was undertaken in 2009, a year after the ground breaking adoption of the Gender Protocol. Civil society continues to play its’ watchdog role on Governments, and as such, the Barometer provides the unbiased analysis.
