Following a recent meeting to discuss the upcoming 7th Civil Society Forum the Platforma da Mulheres Accao (PMA) was elected to become the Alliance focal point.

The roundtable was convened by The AIDS Network Association (ANASO) and Gender Links, with support from Oxfam Great Britain. It was attended by more than 25 organisations.

The group will serve as the Alliance Network in Angola which will be launched on 14 August 2011 at the launch of the 2011 SADC Gender Protocol Barometer.

The meeting, also attended by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Family and a representative of the Angola Parliamentary Women’s Caucus, served as a reference group to update the Angola 2011 SADC Gender Protocol Barometer.

It was noted that Angola civil society is set to receive the Southern Africa Gender Protocol Alliance and other civil society organisations during the Civil Society Forum.
