The Voice newspaper of Botswana, one of the Centres of Excellence (COEs) for Gender in the Media is walking the talk of gender equality during the 16 days of Activism. The Voice had added a gender based violence (GBV) pledge on its Facebook page.
At the time of compiling this report, 9204 people had seen the post and 118 had ‘liked’ it.
This is a good example of how, media, as agenda setters can create dialogue as well as influence opinion on topical issues such as GBV. Through social media, more and more people are using social networking platforms for information dissemination.
