Manyame is one of the few local authorities in Zimbabwe that is led by a female CEO. The council comprises of 21 councillors 4 of whom are female. The local authority participated in the national summit well before it was incorporated into the COE process. Manyme RDC has been working with survivors of gender-based violence and is actively working towards ensuring that it is reduced in their community.

The council has progressed steadily since the 2018 summit. The council has as of 2019 done a verification exercise and went through the monitoring and evaluation phase of the Sunrise Campaign project beneficiaries. In the 2020 local government summit, the council was the best rural spoke council.
