Located in Mashonaland East, some 70km East of the Capital City Harare. Marondera Municipality is relatively progressing in the COE process, managing to hold 50/50 campaigns and other gender activities. The local authority has no female councillors but the Gender Focal Person pushes gender matters in council. Visit their website here for more information on their activities. Marondera is a spoke council in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming. The council attained the bronze category at the 2020 local government SADCProtocol@Work summit.
