Shurugwi is situated in the Midlands area of Zimbabwe. Known for its mineral activity like Chrome and Platinum, the town has 13 councillors (10 male and 3 female). It is also famous for its natural heritage site the “Boterekwa’ escarpment. The council has a gender policy in place.

 

The council is a spoke in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming. It is mentored by Gweru City Council.
