The council is currently conducting radio talkshows on COVID19 and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.Situated in Matebeleland North. This council is known for the man-made upper Umguza and Lower Umguza Dams. The council is also known for its natural wildlife conservancies.  The council has a website that you can view for the services they offer. Umguza Rural District Council is a Hub council for Matebeleland North and South rural councils in the Hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government. Umguza was rated the second best rural hub council at the 2020SADCProtocol@Work summit.
