The Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) is the focal point for Alliance work in Zimbabwe. WCoZ held a workshop on Leadership and Governance for its members on 14 June 2011. The workshop aimed to improve relations between board members and staff. A number of organisations gave best practices about how they are running their operations.

Earlier this year a consultant was hired to do an assessment of WCoZ. On 211 June 2011 WCoZ held another workshop where the findings of this assessment were presented and members were asked to validate them.

The Zimbabwe Local Government Association (ZILGA) held a stakeholders seminar on the Constitution making process in Zimbabwe.

The following presentations were given:

– An overview of the ZiLGA Constitution and Local Government.
– The current Zimbabwe legislative environment.
– Local Government experiences from Uganda and South Africa.

It was noted that gender issues were not given a high priority within the constitution making process.
