ALET Association of Lesotho Theologians

ALET stands for Association of Lesotho Theologians. It is the non-denominational Christian faith-based organization comprising of both qualified professional theologians and non-professional theologians. It was founded in 2005 with the aim among others to: Provide a forum for the discussion of theological issues such as HIV/AIDS, Gender, Human Trafficking, Transformative Masculinities, etc pertinent to the context of Lesotho. Encourage exchange and sharing of theological ideas and information in order to enhance the lives and ministries of the members of the Association and their communities. ALET has contributed in the formation of LCS Men ’s Forum. The purpose of LCS Men ’s Forum is to promote transformative masculinities/positive manhood among LCS male staff and to beef up a lot of activity in this regard where there would be a regular and continuous interaction amongst male officers where issues confronting male officers at personal, occupational and social level will be discussed. Gender Equity and Equality is among the themes of discussion which comprises of prevention and fight against GBV. Our network with Bible society Lesotho is an opportunity to expand ‘Contextual Bible Study which addresses among others, issues of gender and masculinities.
