The work submitted is about gender violence and it covers one woman by name Neo Motlhoki, who was abused by her husband. She was burned by her husband after they argued. The husband used paraffin to burn her. The Broadcasters organisastion saw this woman at the gender links SADC summit last year at Boipuso hall. Neo Motlhoki On the 10th of May 2013 The Broadcasters organization embarked on its first project at Ramotswa village to help Ms Neo Motlhoki a Gender Based Violence victim (GBV) through uplifting her spirit. She is staying with her three kids whom she is taking care of them herself of which it is hard for her to do that because the husband left her and he has married another woman. We find it fit to help MsMotlhoki because she is finding it difficult for her to make her way into the society due to the unfortunate event that happened to her. It is hard for her to find a job because of stigmatization that she is facing in her day to day life. Motivation To carry out this project we were motivated by a couple of factors such sa; – Women in most cases are abused by they do not report this issues to the police or bring it to the public attention – The other factor can be that of women being regarded as inferior to men. The above mentioned factors are the main reasons as to why the broadcasters found it fit to bridge that gap that is there between men and women.
