Ms Oteng runs a business of buying and reselling agricultural products such as nuts, beans and maize. Her products are sourced mainly from Zambia. The business has grown in, the quantity of products sold so much so that it has expanded into selling chickens and second-hand clothing. She employs 3 people in order to make deliveries on time. The business was originally financed through a MOTSHELO created by 4 women who were survivors of abuse.

The business keeps receipts and invoices to track spending. In the past, she had a bank account but it was shut down due to inactivity, she now uses Orange Money services.

Budgeting and Pricing

The business currently has no savings as these were used to begin construction of her house as well as purchase a 10hectare farm lot. In the past 3-6 months the business has raked in P7, 650.00 income, with expenses to the sum of P4, 000.00 hence a profit margin of P3, 650.00. In the next 3-6 months projections state an income of P80, 000.00 with expenses worth P49, 300.00 hence a profit margin of P30, 700.00. Future plans for the business are to package and brand the products.
