Botswana: Male member of parliament calls for free sanitary pads

It has been almost 2 years since the Law was passed that sanitary pads should be part of school supplies in all schools across the nation of Botswana, but since then we see no progress made.

Bocongo Gender and Human rights thematic group has begun a task to assess the situation and develop a strategy to address the relevant stakeholders.

Activities

We intend to create an awareness campaign targeting school heads and guidance teachers. Where we make them aware of the law and as they are the guardians of the children at school, are well within the boundaries to demand that they receive that is within their rights.
