SADC initiatives to empower women and vision to achieve gender equality can be realized when women take responsibility to take up leadership opportunities and make use of the laws, policies and SADC protocol provisions to advocate and assert their human rights. The best practice is related to realising 50% representatio of women in decision making through facilitating and sharing experience of the realities and success of taking an initiative at individual level to make use of opportunities existing and taking leadership position to contribute to the goal of 50% representation of women in decision making. The best practice shares the reality that it is possible and practical for women to be leaders in various sectors and make a difference through championing gender.
