The Good Practice: Climate Change initiatives for Sustainable Development â € ¢ Tree Planting- Mitigate the effects of climate change as trees clean our air by tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphereâ € ¦tree planting is without a doubt one of the most effective ways to combat climate change by locking up carbon in its growing tissue. â € ¢ Gardening Projects (backyard gardening) – is for food provision, economic growth and future sustainability. â € ¢ Commemoration of Environmental Days- Raise awareness, create information platforms activities. Arbor Day, World Environment Day, World Water Day (Agriculture), World Wetlands Day (environment). Climate Change is considered one of the most serious threats to Namibiaâ € ™s environment, human well-being as well as its socio-economic development. The arid environment, recurrent drought and desertification have contributed to make Namibia one of the most vulnerable countries to the effects of Climate Change. The reason for this good practice is to make a continues impact and raise awareness from a bottom-up approach. We canâ € ™t wait for circumstances to be right, we must go out there and make the circumstances right. As young people, we need to pick up the tools and start addressing issues of sustainable development for ourselves and the future generation.
