Electronic Patient Monitoring System on HIV infected clients in Rimuka Kadoma

Kadoma is a City in the province of Mashonaland West in Zimbabwe and has a population of 99288 of which 47658 males 51630 are females .Rimuka is one of the largest locations in Kadoma with a population of 46396 of which 21722 are males and 24674 females. There is one intergrated HIV/TB CLINIC which caters for 3600 ART clients (Include number of females and males saved).

What problem where you facing … ….

This led to the adoption of the Electronic monitoring system of patients living with HIV and AIDS who were being monitored manually which increased the workload on the overburdened staff thereby compromising the quality of service increasing treatment failures and lost to follow ups of which women constituted the greatest number affected.

Locally The City of Kadoma has built an alliance with the following TB Care, TB challenge, TB Union, Ministry of health, people living with HIV, NAC through DAAC, ZNNP+, Soap Box, ZimHEALTH, Global Fund, EGPAF, Kapnick and Zimbabwe national family planning.This alliance has helped to fulfil Article 27 of the Gender protocol and take into account the unequal status of women ,the particular vulnerability of the girl child and any biological factors that result in women constituting the majority of those affected and infected by HIV and AIDS
