Women have been marginalised and not been mainstreamed or considered in the main economic sector of the local community, the LED intervention is one that has made possible strides to empower women and make resources available for their economic emancipation and participation into the economy of the region.
The roles of women have for too long been in the kitchen and being house wives and not fulfilling their potential or skills development through exposure to other avenues of opportunities, this has negatively affected their self-esteem as individuals as well as groups. As hard working true African women the will to succeed was re-invented into most of them to ensure that they become economically contributing individuals either at household or community levels.
