We carried out a gender analysis of sanitation facilities in 2 areas of Kadoma. This work was done as part of the development of a strategic WASH plan for Kadoma City council covering the next 5 years. Since women are the major consumers of WASH services, and as a Centre of Gender Excellence we thought it was prudent to ensure that the concerns of women are met. This is a best practice because for the first time council has taken an initiative to ensure gender concerns are addressed in a strategic plan. The activities carried out are in line with the SADC gender protocol.
