There is 46% representation of women amongst the councillors, which reflects the fact that women have a voice in day to day running of council affairs • two female councillors namely councillor m. Maphike and councillor m. Ramakhula are appointed by the council to lead social services committee and land committee respectively, meaning they are entrusted with sensitive issues in the community • physical planners in the council are women meaning they play a huge role in town and country planning in hlotse urban areas as well as facilitating land allocation. • there are more women in council ’s management meaning there are more women taking part in decision making.
