Kanana Community Council

The council gender is fully balanced because we have 7 men and 7 women. • In the current year amongst 3 standing committees one is headed by a woman and that is a social service committee which works closely with all village committees. • • Yes there is a gender champion who is a councillor and a woman. • The public particpates through public gatherings, campaigns and soccer games that which are used to mobilise mostly men in participation on gender based violence. • Communities are also involved in policing within their areas in reporting all sorts of crime working hand-in-hand with police officials • Community committees are also involved in reporting all activities in any form of maintenance in their societies.
