Lusaka city council at the local government annual summit became a centre of excellence on good governance practices in relation to gender policy. In doing so a number of activities were under taken. These include the training of staff and local government leaders in gender related issues that affected their communities, local leaders and members of staff were also trained in media coverage and held an interactive on line discussion with members of staff from gender links. This was followed by a match past called “take back the nightÀ to speak out against gender based violence that had erupted in many parts of Lusaka. Lusaka city council also had HIV and AIDS sensitization workshop in which 220 zone leaders were trained and also later had an entrepreneurship workshop in which 20 GBV Survivors were trained.
