Qomo-Qomong Community Council is found within rural village of Qomo Qomong in the Quthing district.

The has  gender action plan that was  updated to incorporate the Post 2015 SADC Gender Protocol, SDGs and other relevant targets.Qomo Qomong council consists of 11 councillors which 5 are women; this is amazing because this only had two councillors last election. Total workforce of the council is seven, five men six and only one for woman. Women participate fully in the council meetings and influence most of the decisions.Youth and PWD get involve in public gatherings as attendance and participation, the decision taken are together.

The council gives three months paid maternity leave for women and after the maternity leave there is also a provision of three months of nursing hours when the mother has come back to work. The council does not have sexual harassment policy, but cases of such are dealt at the police stations. The council is well accessible to people and is disability friendly user.

Market places designed and 80% of stands allocated to women, men, PWD and youth on an equal opportunity basis. There is also existence of entrepreneurship finance schemes linked to council that benefit women, men, people living with disability, and youth through Qomo-Qomong Cooperative form by SOS.

There are few projects to prevent the climate that the council is engaging whereby women, PWD, and youth are equally involved; they are engage to waste management, sustainable energy and recycling and tree planting.

People have equal access to health issues and receive treatment regardless to their condition, if the person cannot reach out to the clinic care givers make sure that he/she collects the treatment for the person from the local clinic.

For Land and housing 40% of land allocated is owned by women while 60% is owned by men. Also Every village has water committee where they elect some member to form an electoral water committee; five water pipes were repaired and six pit latrine
