The gym has a program that helps new trainees to excel by using peers that already went through the beginner training to train and mentor them to reach their goals more efficiently. The gym is one of few that incorporate Women football, Track and field , and Gymnastics as part of the program. It keeps people off the street, and utilises time positively that would otherwise be wasted Negatively. It promote a healthy lifestyle and increases intellectual capacity. It encourage people especially youth to choose their sports type regardless of gender . it produces healthy sports for man and women thus increasing self-esteem. It empowers the 50/50 gender balance, and also promotes community awareness, focus and discipline.
The project aims and objectives to keep the people busy, fit, and strong, flexibility, health and utmost best become responsible. Secondly to engage and encourage young people to immolate the same example like I do. And also to educate men & women to work together through sports activities by training them in order to be fully equipped. Thirdly it also contribute to the GDP and economic sector of the country. The principle of the organisation/facility is to deliver quality fitness and keep our people within the community healthy.
Furthermore, to promote a healthy and positive mind set, good looking man, women and keep the scholastic busy at all times. Thus changing the behaviour of people in terms of education, a clear cut of understanding, proper communication and good interaction between girl child and women development amongst the society.
The project also aimed at empowering women thus we started with the woman FC as one of the major stepping stone. And due to the effort of the Ministry of youth, sport and national service whereby I was one of them man amongst the women who attendant a Level 1, F.I.G International Gymnastic Federation coarse. Looking by the picture, already it is clear testimony of the gender 50/50.
The main activities are:
The project has benefited about 4 000 direct beneficiaries and 4 5000 online beneficialries. The project reaches 30 000 indirect beneficiaries.
The expectation was to learn more about business skills including how to work with finance, how to draw up own business plan, learn about customer care, marketing concepts, how to start and improve the business, learn how to do costing and pricing, learn how to borrow and refund, bookkeeping, learn when there is a profit and losses and how to promote the business. We also learned the different types of marketing known as the five P’s of marketing. These are; Know who your customers are: People. What product/service they need: Product
The Kavetu Arandis Community Gymnasium was allocated $3 000 to this project. In kind contributions amounted to $3 000. The total budget for the project is $6 000.
The evaluation should be seen as a key part of the communications process, and not a bolt on at the end, and thought needs to be put into understanding exactly what outcomes can and should be measured. At a bare minimum, organisations should ensure they have ways for measuring how they perform in the media, how informed their staff are, and how campaigns are performing. Monitoring and evaluation raises the profile of communications and brings boardroom credibility.
As you can see Evaluation does not need to be expensive nor overly complex. Start simple by doing whatever desk research you can in order to understand your audience and current issues. By also looking around to see what information already exists on a particular audience and how it behaves, thinks and feels about different issues, you can quickly build up benchmarks to which you will be able to compare later. Use whatever information you have available to identify your target customer groups. This could for example through an existing database such as a council tax register, or through a mailing list.
Avoid targeting everybody to bring greater focus to your communications activity, and to make the evaluation process easier. When evaluating traditional media such as newspaper articles and radio coverage, the focus should be on the quality, not the quantity of coverage. I recommend Declaration of Measurement Principles in approaching any evaluation exercise. These can be applied to new as well as traditional media. It’s good for the exposure. This is women FC development as you can see above, through sport activities together, we will make a difference. I think that at any level of education and work scope, Fitness, Flexibility, balance and strength is the best remedy to any life circle of any human being.
The main biggest challenge is the financial part, sponsorship or donor because without capital it’s a bit difficult. When relate to fit, fresh beginners, comes with its different challenges. Every club has them, as does the industry as a whole. One of the most common and recurring “issues” is finding quality employees, especially personal trainers as that is one of the fastest growing sectors of the industry. Getting the right people to improve both the businesses as well as industry-wide in order to move health and fitness in the right directions is hard to come by.
Trained peers as personal trainer move to greener pastures to a nearby club or town that was able to offer more. “The big thing I see right now from my perspective is staffing with high quality, competent, passionate fitness people. I code “It’s tough to compete with others if you aren’t growing fast enough. The larger companies are growing faster (than us) and can offer more. “One solution he I come up with is cross-training current staff.
However, many departments are learning what their co-workers are doing and how to do it. This is making it more valuable and knowledgeable. I think this is helping people grow with new positions and responsibilities which are somehow a good practice but we turn to lose out because of lack of modern equipments, therefore less members and less capital.
Women are being empowered into leadership positions in sport, support women or girls who are inactive to realise that they can do better what man can do. It Promote gender equality and empower women in health, well-being and fitness through women getting more involve in sports activities. It provide good looking health women, it enhance the flexibility level, fitness, strength and balance. Regular exercise has important health benefits, women’s physical activity, cognitive-behavioural, and empowerment-based on physical activity intervention. Women’s exercise participation has been less extensively than men’s or have addressed women’s specific barriers to physical activity such as improvement of their world, women are facing threats to their lives, health and well- being as a result of being obis. When steps have simultaneously been taken to improve the status of women, Governments and civil society should take actions to eliminate attitudes.

This is one of the good examples that men has or indeed they are on the right track. As you can see the stadium is almost Jim pack, they all come to watch the Swakopmund women soccer fixture league for (week 4) played in Arandis, October 2016.This is a good exposure for the girl/scholastic for the upliftment of the morale of the young people and the women at large. Men in the community have shown great interest in the organisation as it keeps them busy in the sense that they even assist committed women in and around the gymnasium. A good example can be how men motivate their partners inside the gymnasium. We are all aware that men portray more physical strength, flexibility and fitness level in most cases thus women are highly motivated by these factors. Women tend to take more interest & make it a mission to be as highly active & flexible as men are.
Garson Horaseb is an 18 year old learner from Kolin Foundation Secondary School. He started in 2015 whereby he had so many difficulties when he first joined Kavetu Arandis Community gymnasium. His friends didn’t like him much because he was overweight. People would call him names and this ate him up emotionally & psychologically. After he joined the gymnasium, I focused on his fitness, strength and flexibility. We also worked on his core muscles and mobility levels. There were times I was so hard on him and I felt really pity for him. Even though I was hard on him.
A good example can be how men motivate their partners inside the gymnasium. We are all aware that men portray more physical strength, flexibility and fitness level in most cases thus women are highly motivated by these factors. Women tend to take more interest & make it a mission to be as highly active & flexible as men are. It creates a positive challenge against men which in line allows women not to be biased and think that only men are able to do certain sports & fitness activities. For example most people are under the impression that fitness activities such as weight-lift & body building are only supposed to be practiced by men when this is not actually the case. Women tend to take up these activities as well now & end up being just as good as men are.
The principle of the organisation/facility is to deliver quality fitness and keep our people within the community healthy. The project also aimed at empowering women thus we started with the woman FC as one of the major stepping stone.
The project started as an answer to the alarming rate of alcohol and drug use in the community, we had to look at ways to take the youth off the streets and to educate them in ways of better living. Another reason was the escalation in woman and child abuse, we at the project believes that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind ,if we can educate the youth through the sports activities they love the most, we can surely reach a state at which people will think twice before they act. Secondly, through the intervention of sport activities we will surely keep most people in our community feel useful and a very important people.
Most importantly is to do a market research on the following basis such as: Planning, Know who are your customer, the type of product needed, the price allocation irrespective to the area you live in, the location and promotion. This are a very important when it comes to the implementation of any health and fitness level. Warm- up is the first preparation to make sure that the heart, muscle and joints are ready for the subsequent activity, prepared properly to avoid any injuries. To gradually increase the heart and respiration rate, in order to boost the amount of nutrients and oxygen delivery to the muscles. Proper warm up is good for increasing the blood circulation through muscle and muscles elasticity.
Increasing productivity of synovial fluid located between the joints to reduce friction and to allow joints to move efficiently. Warm ups also prepares the mind to release adrenaline, or store up energy. It unites participants; it sets the mood or tone for the sub sequent lesson/training. Make sure that the warm- ups is quick and easy to organise, involves everyone, work with all music group which is appropriate for practice to all age/ abilities, involve moving joints and above all one should have fun irrespective of we do in weightlifting, bodybuilding and health & fitness.

Kavetu Arandis Community Gymnasium is a health and fitness/Wellness centre run by Prof K Muvangua, A 34 year old young Namibian who’s dream is to develop Sports activities from the grass roots level national as well international level. But can only do that if the project is supported consecutively in order to run day to day operations.Kavetu Women Football Club was established under the umbrella of the Centre, and the Community Gymnasium cannot do it alone without proper sponsorships. The centre needs Gym Equipments, soccer kids, safety kits, gire extinguisher, soccer balls etc.
I m glad and happy to be part and parcel of genderlinks, as I m one of the community activist.
