Recruiting female fire fighters

Kadoma is a city in Mashonaland West Province of Zimbabwe. The Fire Brigade of Kadoma is promoting gender equality by employing women. It has recruited female trainees as fire fighters; they were five out of twelve trainees. The trainees undergo a vigorous training course for three months and women managed to complete effectively. A graduation ceremony was conducted, the graduates were handed their certificates in front of the whole community. This symbolises best practice of equal employment opportunity for women and as result their capabilities have been show-cased.Kadoma City council is serious about fire fighting and it afforded to buy a fire tender regardless of the current financial crisis
