As a child leader and youth, it is my duty to call a spade a spade when it comes to the welfare of all the orphans and vulnerable children in my community. Their future is hindered because of the unfavourable situations they are facing as result of them being either orphan, rejected or disabled. This leads them to engage in sexual relations which invite sexually related dilemmas which include human papiloma virus which leads to cervical cancer, H.I.V and Aids, unwanted pregnancy, trauma and even suicides. They are unaware that gender based violence is being portrayed from the side of the perpetrators who take advantage of them and establish sexual relationships. It is therefore because these children do not have adequate knowledge on sexual reproductive health and gender based violence that they all rush into sexual engagements whereas they too can have a bright future like any other ordinary Zimbabwean child.(SADC Protocol on Gender, articles 14,26 and 27).
