Tiangmaatla Drop In Centre and Home Based Care can be seen as a model for the practical implementation of the Department of Health and Social Development, National Integrated Plan of children and youth infected and affected by HIV and AIDS, the rights of children form the cornerstone of all service to children and youth, and to ensure that they grow into a caring and responsible adults.

This project is a Home Based Care which opts to provide care and support to patients while Drop in Centre provide care and protection, Youth Development conduct health promotion to the community at large. It also aims to provide psycho-social care and support to OVC, youth and child-headed families.

The communities’ people live in still have a denial of the existence HIV and AIDS, teenage pregnancy and alcohol and substance abuse. Since 2009 the organization has implemented programs for behavioural change. Such programmes have initiated to deal mainly with adolescent girls and young women aged 15-24 as well as boys. Tiangmaatla has implemented a behaviour change for youth and teenager.

Of the main challenges were the stigma and discrimination around HIV and AIDS in rural areas still pose a major stumbling block. Lack of funders and sponsorship make our work an organization difficult. Also partnership with relevant stakeholders is not forth coming.

Women are valued in this organization and they are offered a work that suit their abilities and talents. Over 80% of employees of Tiangmaatla are women with passion and commitment.

Beneficiaries performing well at school and Principals do appreciate our work. Parents and guardians show appreciation by attending events and campaigns when invited. Beneficiaries show joy and for coming to the centre by doing extra mural activities to entertain their parents and guests at events and campaigns.
