This program is a follow up of a couple of programs which were produced and aired in 2013 to raise awareness about the gender inequalities that are common in the society. The program traces the origin of gender based violence back to the socialization of the boy and the girl child. The socialization is different as it tends to shrink girls and merely prepares them for marriage instead of grooming them so that they compete with their male counterparts. For example as the girls grow up in the house a lot of emphasis is placed on the household chores while the boys are raised in such a way that they are made to dominate the girls in future. For example the parents are very strict with girls while they are lenient with the boys. They are free to stay out of the house until late while the girls cannot behave like wise. They have to be woman enough and stay in the house. Such socialization is wrong and it disempowers the boy child. They grow up unempowered to do most of the house hold duties and when they grow up they start putting a lot of demand on the women. If they try to dominate a woman who is assertive conflict is then unavoidable leading to domestic violence. This is a good example of media content as it tries to encourage parents to raise the boy child and the girl child as equal partners to promote gender equality to achieve 50/50 by 2015.
