WOMENâ € ™S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT: ONE WAY TO REACH GENDER TARGETS

First of all, our ministry works for gender mainstreaming, this is a part of our missions. For example, we sensitize women for gender equality. Not only that but we take also care about vulnerable persons like children, eldery people, disabled persons, poor persons and those who have social problems. We want to remind that to reduce the gap between disabled and non-disabled persons is also part of gender issues.
It was the leader of our ministry who give us guides, instruction and information, in addition with what are given by the Responsible of Population and Social Affairs of Matsiatra Ambony. That is why every year we can draw up an annual work plan and most of our activities are focused on gender mainstreaming.
We focused on womenâ € ™s economic empowerment in order to achieve the gender targets. It is obvious that man and woman are not equal. The majority of women are not economy actors. That is why we decided to raise womenâ € ™s awareness and trained them, we also created a special center in which women can meet themselves and exchange their ideas.
