Intervenant ce matin au Domaine Les Pailles Ă l’ouverture d’un atelier basĂ©e sur le genre, dans le cadre de la campagne ‘ 16 Days violence Against violence 2011’, la directive exĂ©cutive de la Mauritius Family Planning Welfare Association, Vidya Charan, s’est interrogĂ©e sur la sĂ©curitĂ© des femmes sur leur lieu de travail, dans une sociĂ©tĂ© patriarcale comme le notre.
« je voudrais souligner que, connaissant notre main-d’Ă
âuvre, ou une trĂšs large part est composĂ©e de femmes contribuant a la croissance et au dĂ©veloppement du pays, ou plusieurs femmes occupent des postes a hautes responsabilitĂ©s, la question de pose de savoir si elle peuvent vraiment travailler en toute sĂ©curitĂ©, en rapport aux lois en vigueur ou l’on parle d’Ă©galitĂ© d’opportunitĂ©s et de droit humains ! », a lance vidya Charan devant un parterre en majoritĂ© d’hommes.

Ou sont elles condamnĂ©es Ă souffrir en silence et rester a la merci de leur agresseurs ? », A poursuivi la directrice de la Mauritius Family Planning Welfare Association(MFPWA). « Ce serait un domaine de recherche tres intĂ©ressant ! », a-t-elle laconiquement ajoute sans aucunement faire allusion aux difficultĂ©s qu’elle rencontre actuellement avec certains membres du conseil d’administration de son association.
