Mr. Benjamiin Vel is a champion of gender equity and equality in Seychelles, helping to set up a Gender-Based Violence Helpline, training in GBV counselling and women’s empowerment through business start-up training and support for women entrepreneurs. He is engaged with helping other gender NGOs improve their work through writing project proposals, business plans and assiting members through their process of developing their home-based businesses.
I congratulate GL for being percistent in monitoring gender in SADC region. It will be more fruitful if the Allience could track performance in both SDGs and SGP as the Allience has already worked in aliegning the two instruments.
Therefore, the gender barometer work has to be more organised by having a strong team to do tracking/analysis rather than having one person writing all chapters. To my view, the chapters have to be distributed to individuals (each chapter one person) to have detailed and inclusive data
