Johannesburg, 25 April: The South Africa SADC Gender Protocol@Work Summit awards ceremony came to a colourful and melodic close last night after Gender Links and the Southern Africa Gender Protocol Alliance rewarded drivers of change for their work in advancing gender equality across the country.

Gender Links student journalists from the University of Limpopo reporting for the summit interviewed some of the winners. Listen to the podcasts below:

Naledi Masipa talks about how the Capricorn Municipality emerged as the winnner of the Centre of Excellence category after having completed the Centre of Excellence process on gender mainstreaming in local government.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mathamsanqa Edna Ntshangase Chairperson of the Emgazini Garden Project based in KwaZulu Natal was the runner up in the economic development category.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Edzani Conilias Zvobwo Director of Maths Genius- a South African based leadership institute, won the award in the education category.
