Southern Africa: Radio remains crucial for the cause

Johannesburg, 28 May: The SADC Gender Protocol@Work Summit, underway in Johannesburg has brought together Media houses and journalists from all over Southern Africa to showcase their work in advancing gender equality through the media. The media remains a crucial platform to create awareness, educate and inspire change within society. Tamanda Matebule, from Malawi, is one of 28 participants competing in media content category. He says that despite the rise of new media, radio remains one of the most important platforms because it is still more accessible to many more people.
