Give a short history of the leader I realized that I was a real leader when I started working in my community as a volunteer training people on disease prevention , community development and how to manage their finances and also do small income generating projects for the sustainability of local community people, this all started when I saw a great need of unemployment, poverty and HIV/AIDS which left a lot of orphans whose parents were killed by AIDS at that time people had no education on HIV/AIDS they thought it was witchcraft
Objectives To train, empower, equip community members to obtain knowledge and be free from preventable diseases and eventually rise out of poverty and enjoy a self sustainable life
Key activities My work is to do door to door home visits making relations with families observing their challenges and how we can go about helping each other in a way that will be long lasting and multiplying so they can also teach their neighbor to live a healthy life. The challenge was to teach or train men because they felt its a thing of women and to get them start the income generating projects because of funds
Key challenges The challenge was that we had to first train the community leaders and the gate keepers to make them understand the importance of gender equality so that once they get it that will make it easier for other men to listen to their leaders
