“Set to bring change to the entire community”
My life was a challenge as my husband left me in 1995 when he went away looking for job and never come back, and I had to take care of 6 children by myself. I had to find a way to survive and rise my children that at point depended only on me, so in 1997 I decided to work in a small hotel in town, where I worked till 2013. During this time I was a full time worker and I was doing my own business on the side. With the money I got from the job and the business, I managed to send my kids to school. In the same year (2013), I left the work at the hotel because the owner decided to close it, and I concentrated on my business. It was a challenge at first, but after a year of focus and dedication I realized I could pressed and take care of my family with the money from the business.
In 2014, I had my first contact with GL. It was a honor to me as I learned about Human rights and other important things of life in general. Before GL life was a challenge for me as a business woman. After GL training in entrepreneurship, I was more open minded about business and the opportunities to grow the business.
Through the Experience from GL training I know how to manage well my business as well as I am capable of teaching other woman about their rights. It had been such a great opportunity to me to pass my experience to those who need.
I am so thankful to Gender Links for the opportunity they gave me on those trainings, now I fill that I am a different person, my business is growing. I am moving from just selling glossaries, I am selling DStv equipment’s in partnership with one of my older sons and we are being successful on the business, that we are considering to extend the business to other areas, but first we are working to have transport so it can be easy for us to move our products to those areas.
I consider myself a women of success, if I look back to my life I see that God had been in center of my life as well of my children, I really thank GL as well, for the Management training that brought so many changes into my life as well as to the life of those communities where I am involved in trainings as a replica from GL’s training, more woman know about their rights and justice. My children they are very proud of me and my work.
