I started attending Gender links training from the 25th of November for five days in 2014. I learned that is not good for a person to keep a secret and not tell others about the abuse that is happening in your life. If you have problems you must share with other people because they might be able to assist you in finding the solutions for those problems.
I am a fashion designer and have attended all the training workshops. I have learned to write a business plan and how to be your own entrepreneur by starting a business as part of self development. Coming to this training has helped me a lot because I have learned a lot of knowledge and skills. I am not going to give up on my business. I have lot of orders to design I even found a car to deliver for me.
My business is to design fashion dresses, skirts, and traditional clothes for Tsonga and Pedi people. I have learned that a woman must not sit and do nothing and as a woman I have to stand by myself and avoid being dependent to others.
My experience of abuse was from my partner; he was abusive towards me and my children. I reported him to the police so that he can stop the abuse. Thank you Gender Links for helping me I will not give up on my business. I want to be independent and provide for my children. In 2030 I would love to live in a beautiful house and buy a new car. At this training I have learned to accept myself and be who I am. Now I am a better person and people love and respect me and i am always happy thank you Gender links.
