The importance of saving money

Before the course at GL, I was involved in the making of handicraft. My handicrafts work consisted of decorations and paintings on bottles. My little business was working. I have joined Gender Links in 2014. The course at Gender links (GL) was very helpful. I have attended the three phrases of the course. I have been satisfied with all the courses at GL. It has encouraged me to go even further. Learning good human values was a thing. Another important thing is that I have learnt how to save money. I continued the course. I have seen that I have been able to progress in life. Through saving I have been able to move from a roof covered with sheet metal to a brick house. Gender Links has equipped me with the knowhow to make the type of business that I wanted. With the course at GL, my new business plan was the building of a snack in front of my house. Gender Links has given me the strength and the courage to think higher. I have also learned that a woman should be strong. The thing that can be a barrier to set up my business right now is my children. I have to equip them with the thing they need. I am a remarried woman and I have experienced a lot of violence from my past marriage. My previous husband was an alcoholic. He was always beating me. I have a daughter and a son with my previous husband and two daughters with my present husband. There was even a time when I was pregnant. I had to escape from his violent behavior. He wanted to beat me. So, I passed from the window. Then, I run a lot although I was pregnant. Luckily, I have been able to hide in the bushes. He did not saw me. I escaped this time but not always. It was a life full of violence. Sometimes, I and my children did not have food to eat. I had to go and ask for food. Now I am remarried. My husband drinks alcohol but he is not violent like my previous husband. With the course at Gender Links, I have become aware of the importance of dialogue at home. Now, me and my husband discuss and resolve problems together. In short, the most important lesson at GL was to know how to save money. I have also known what dialogue in the family is. I want to thank Gender Links for all the support and encouragement that they gave me. Nowadays I can tell that I feel good and independent. I have a business plan. I will do all that I can to make it stand. I know that I will succeed.
