My Name is *Api, I am 42 years old, I have four children and I stay in Ongwediva. I started attending the Gender Links workshops on 10 July 2014. From all these workshops I learnt a lot about gender base violence which I have been experiencing in my life. I realized that when you start working on your own, you will not face the problem of poverty and hunger. Gender links workshop opened my mind, now I can do many things that I couldn’t do in the past. Namibian women must start attending these types of workshop, because it really helps to empower women from grassroots level. I want someone to help me financial so that I can start a small mini market, where I can sell different products such sugars, bread and maize meal. If I establish a mini market I will be able to recruit more local people in order to reduce unemployment in Namibia.

If the local town council could give me and other women land where we can sell our products,  we are struggling to find permanent places to sell as vendors for our business to move smoothly. God willing, I want by 2030 to have my own beautiful house and car for transporting stock. I am planning to recruit more workers so that the business can grow further. I want also want to start advertising my business on the local radio so that my business can become known. I thank Gender Links for empowering us as now I have more knowledge about how to run the business successful.
