My name is Dollo,I came from Eembe village in Omusati region, a Namibian women who have been suffering because of gender base violence. I really thank Gender Links for providing me this types of workshop. I started the training on 20 July 2014, before training I was volunteer in government organization, I was invited to Gender Links workshop through the ministry of health and social service at Oshakati hosipital.

I was been abuse by my husband, he would beat me for no reason. After gaining knowledge from the workshop I started a small business of selling so that I could help feed my family. People from surrounding area start flocking to me asking me more information how to did I manage to change my life, because they realize my life has change completely. I am no more suffering, now I rely on my self. I am happy that my life has change but other women in the surrounding area still suffering because of men and they need help. I  no longer believe that I can only survive in this world if I depend on man. Without a man I can still grow and help my children. I tell myself that if depend on a men I will continue suffering because he will continue abusing me.

I really thank Gender Links for helping me when  I needed to change my life for better  and  for always preparing us  a good venues and food for the workshop. I will be going to the town council to provide us with enough place where we can sell our products, I really thank Ongwediva town council for the hospitality. Can Gender Link not forget us whenever they have new information on gender violence. Gender Links should continue to pass on the message of hope in the society because there is still more women who are suffering and still need the information.
