My name is Kata Kahere born in Windhoek, I am Afrikaans speaking now 25 years old I have 2 children and 4 siblings. I went to school in Windhoek at Moses van der Byl and relocated to Keetmanshoop where I started my grade 5. I am very short tempered. I got a boyfriend in my grade 10 year who cheated a lot on me when I was 15 and I used to run behind him. I then moved back to Windhoek just so I forget him and on a day I called him he asked me to return as he would stop cheating on me.

I started the Gender Links training in 2013 when we  had the “I story” workshop where by we had to narrate our stories. And we spoke as a group of women who have been affected by gender based violence in our lives. And it was eye opener to see that I was not the only person who was been abuse and it was/is not my fault. I am a stronger women now because I was able to share my story.

I was then invited to other workshops that were hosted by Gender Links for entrepreneurial workshops I attended all three workshop. In the three workshops we were taught about the business from  doing a market research, drawing/writing a business plan, calculating the mark up and saving the profit. And we were invited to Mariental were we received certificates. In phase 3 we learned about entrepreneurship where we learned a lot and also received certificates. Thank you Gender Links Namibia staff. I have not started a business yet but in the near future I am going to start. My council has not helped me with anything and I would like if they could help me a capital to start a business because I have the skill already.
