With an average score of 60%, gender attitudes in Tanzania are changing for the better, although some evidence of deep-seated patriarchal attitudes is still strong. For example, while 78% of women and men agree or strongly agree that “women and men should be treated the same”, 84% agree or strongly agree that “a woman should obey her husband.”
