With an average score of 58%, gender attitudes in Zambia are gradually changing for the better, but evidence of deep-seated patriarchal attitudes is still strong. For example, while 62% of women and men agree or strongly agree that ā€œPeople should be treated the same whether they are male or femaleā€, 68% agree or strongly agree that ā€œa woman should obey her husband.ā€
