With an average score of 58%, gender attitudes in Zambia are gradually changing for the better, but evidence of deep-seated patriarchal attitudes is still strong. For example, while 62% of women and men agree or strongly agree that “People should be treated the same whether they are male or female”, 68% agree or strongly agree that “a woman should obey her husband.”
