Bottomup is a nonprofit organisation that works with high school youth to promote critical thinking, social justice and participatory democracy.
This project aims to normalise gender diversity in five working class schools. This is important because gender binaries are still very much in place in schools and very few schools have embraced the diversity of gender. Those who identify as trans, queer or non-binary are not understood and are stigmatised by other students and teachers.
