Africa Information and Media Summit: 17-19 September 2011

To mark the 20th year of the Windhoek Declaration, the Windhoek +20 Campaign on Access to Information in Africa is convening the Pan African Conference on Access to Information (PACAI). The conference will run from 17 to 19 September 2011 in Cape Town. The objectives of this meeting include:

  • Exchanging knowledge and experience on information rights and access in Africa;
  • Building momentum for transparency, public domain information and ICT accessibility in Africa;
  • Initiating the adoption of the African Platform on Access to Information (APAI); and
  • Urging the United Nations to declare an “International Day for Access to Information”.

The Highway Africa Conference running concurrently will be celebrating its 15th year running under the banner African Media and the Global Sustainability Challenge. Registration is now open, click here.

The PACAI and Highway Africa Conference will then come together for a joint closing session dubbed the Africa Information and Media Society where the APAI declaration will be adopted.
