Mainstreaming gender in media education

After the exercise to mainstream gender in the curriculum, the Polytechnic of Malawi successfully mainstreamed gender in four modules this past semester. These are: Media Criticism; Media Regulation, Policy and Law; Media and Society; and Communication Studies.

A tool has been crafted to assess students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes on gender. In addition, students had to answer a compulsory gender question in all the four modules. To see the draft assessment tool, click on the document below.
