MIJ media literacy graduation

The Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) participated in the gender and media literacy course provided by Gender Links in March 2011. Twenty six participants have since completed their projects which demonstrate the knowledge and skills that they gained from the course.

The graduation will be held on 21 February 2012 at MIJ. It will be preceded by a debate on he recent attacks of women wearing trousers and mini-skirts in Malawi. The Director of the institution will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the GMDC. Among other things, the MOU details how the two institutions will partner in the future including mainstreaming gender in media curriculum, internships as well as exchanging resources on gender and the media.
